Unfortunately we cannot use a slash "/" in a title in this manner--but it's true that we do need to figure out how we're going to handle the name change. We could 1) try to figure out some other way to combine the names 2) rename the page So Random! 3) treat the third season almost like a separate show and create a new article for it (I feel like this would be the most confusing of the options) or 4) something else, any ideas?
Please offer your thoughts! :) ---Zukogray 21:45, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
- I've been thinking about it and my personal preference is that we change the name back to "Sonny With a Chance". I think we can figure out a way to have this article focus on the first two seasons and then expand the article So Random! so that it focuses on the TV show (season 3) but still covers info on the show-within-the-show it was for the first two seasons. It might be a little complicated, but I feel it makes the most sense, as long as we explain things clearly in both articles. Opinions? ---Zukogray 03:44, May 22, 2011 (UTC)
Separating SWAC from SR
I'm not sure if this is going to make any sense, but would it make sense to have a separate page for the original SWAC plot and that jazz and then create a new page for this new and improved SR. Because it doesn't really seem right to mix them together, or switch out SWAC from this page to make it SR, because they're not really the same show. SWAC was the behind the scenes look at things and SR seems like an entirely different show in itself due to all the additional cast members and Chad (randomly) being on SR. I can't even really say they're the same show. So that's why I think this page should remain for the original plot of SWAC and then have a new page created for the real life television show that is SR. That way those looking for information on the original show can find it all in one place and not have to sift through all the new SR stuff. I think in the long run it might make things less confusing. Opinions? Bestwithbreadsticks 15:43, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Thinking about it, I don't know if this will make what I'm saying clearer, but this new SR seems more like a spin-off of SWAC and therefore really isn't the same show. It's kinda like Cory in the House and That's So Raven. I don't know. I'm having a very hard time accepting SWAC and SR as the same show. Bestwithbreadsticks 16:09, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
- I definitely agree--Wikipedia treats them as separate shows, calling SR a spin-off, and even though the production codes seem to be treating it as the same show, I think what you're saying makes the most sense. So do we need two pages for So Random! (one for the show-within-the-show and one for the spin-off) or do we think we can make it work having one page? Also, if we're gonna go with the whole "spin-off" mentality, there are other changes that need to be made to other articles (Episode guide, Season 3, Sonny With a Chance of So Random!) so that we really are treating it as a separate show instead of season 3. So we do want to make sure that we're all on board.
- I think the only thing that's really frustrating to me is that the only change I've seen on the official Disney Channel site is they've changed the little SWAC icon from showing just Sonny to showing everyone. But the SWAC official site is still the same, and I do not see a separate icon for So Random! The link to the official So Random site doesn't even work anymore. So I'm a little torn between wanting to see how they will treat it first and wanting to go ahead and make changes now. But I suppose we can always make further changes later--it's getting pretty close to the season 3/So Random! premiere, and it would really be nice to have things better organized for new visitors.
- Please do offer any opinions you have on all this stuff, everyone! :) ---Zukogray 19:15, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
