Dave's role is mainly to run errands for Marshall and the cast members of So Random! and/or inform Marshall what the cast members need. Nico and Grady abuse their power over Dave (such as having him fetch things such as a pig in a blanket) when Marshall allows them to use his office as their dressing room, while Chad is borrowing their dressing room.
